Vision and Values

Churches Together in Herefordshire oversees and supports the Churches Together/Christian Together groups. There are nine groups across the County.

Churches Together in Herefordshire appoints the County Ecumenical Officer who oversees the Churches Together groups and encourages members of those groups to organise ecumenical activities with other Churches in their area.

The Standing Committee of CTiH is made up of representatives from the five foundational denominations (Baptist, Church of England, Methodist, Roman Catholic and URC) who regularly support CTiH together with a representative from the Free Churches. The CEO updates the Standing Committee on the work that is going on in the County.

The Aims/Values of CTiH:

In association with Churches Together in England and with the local groups of Churches or Christians Together within the county:

  1. To work and pray for Christian Unity.
  2. To provide a means of consultation on matters of common concern within the churches and with the wider community.
  3. To be the Sponsoring Body of Local Ecumenical Partnerships in accordance with CTE practice.
  4. To enable Christians in Herefordshire to develop growing relationships, to ensure good communication, to respond to the needs of society and to witness to the Gospel together.
