We have a number of events that help support our local churches! Check out our calendar for upcoming events and see below for the sorts of meetings we run.
Local Groups
There are many different Christian churches and denominations, but all have the same basic calling – to worship God, to share the good news about Jesus Christ and to work for the good of all people. So they often need to work together, as well as co-ordinate the work they each do separately. When they do, they are acting as Churches Together.
But being Churches Together means more than that. It means commitment by each church and denomination to deepen its fellowship with the others and, without losing what makes each interestingly different, to work with them towards a greater visible unity.
There are Churches/Christian Together groups are:
- Christians Together in Orleton
- Christians Together in Bromyard
- Christians Together in Ewyas Harold and District
- Churches Together in Weobley
- Churches Together in Leominster
- Churches Together in Ross-on-Wye & District. Here is the link to their website: http://www.ctrd.org.uk
- Churches Together in Hereford
For contact details for the Church Secretaries and the Chairs of each group, please email Emma Wright, County Ecumenical Officer at herefordshireceo@gmail.com
AGMs and Open Meetings
There is an AGM in May and the Open Meeting in November that CTiH organises every six months. We invite Churches who are member Churches and also those who are not currently members of CTiH to listen and see the work that we are doing. This is so we can continue to reflect unity within the ecumenical work that we represent as an organisation.
Here is the 2025 Open Meeting report below:
In our meeting that took place on 12th November 2025 at the Bishop’s Palace. Duncan MacLean spoke on the topic of disagreeing well.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
18th – 25th January 2026
As we look towards the next Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2026, it is important to continue to pray for Churches across Herefordshire, as well as individuals. Christian unity is essential to our Christian walk. WoPCU 2026 was resourced by the Armenian Apostolic Church. The theme is “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling” (Ephesians 4:4).
Resources for 2026 are available here at Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2026. If you scroll down to page 23, you can find reflections and prayers which you can use in your services.
